The MM2H programme is one of the most attractive long term stay visa programmes in Asia and there are many reasons why Malaysia is an excellent choice to retire or spend extended periods here.

The Malaysia My Second Home Programme offers non Malaysians a ten year renewable visa and various other privileges which are explained in this website. So far some 12,000 people have been approved and it is generating a lot of interest. The programme is primarily attracting people who wish to retire in Malaysia or spend extended periods here.


Participants of Malaysia My Second Home Programme are provided with various incentives to make their stay more comfortable and enjoyable in Malaysia.

HOUSE PURCHASE
Participants are allowed to purchase residential properties priced from a minimum of RM 250,000.00 per unit depending on the location of the property.
(Participants are advised to check the respective state governments on any change to approved amounts for foreigners before making any commitment )

CAR PURCHASE
Each participant is allowed to bring in his/her own personal car OR to purchase a locally-assembled car without the need to pay import duty, excise duty and sales tax.

DOMESTIC HELP
Each applicant is allowed to apply for one maid subject to the prevailing guidelines of the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

EDUCATION
Applicants are allowed to bring their children who under 21 years old and not married as their dependants under this programme.

Children who intend to continue their schooling in Malaysia are required to apply for a Student Pass and should be insured throughout their stay under this programme.

TAX
Participants are bound by the policies, systems and regulations of taxes of this country and they do not have exemption qualifications as granted to Diplomatic Missions in Malaysia.

However, tax exemption is given to pension remitted into Malaysia. Participants are required to obtain the endorsement from the Authorities in their country of origin as to the total amount of yearly pension received. A copy of this letter has to be submitted in their application.

BUSINESS & INVESTMENT
You are required to register your business with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) under the Companies Act 1965. You are only eligible to register limited company in Malaysia.

This programme is initiated, organised and launched by the Malaysian Government and is thus one that the Government will constantly seek to improve, to ensure its success.


The Malay language (Bahasa Melayu) is the national language of the country; English is the second language but other languages can be freely used and practised. Similarly the Malay culture is dominant in the country. But other cultures can be practiced very freely and there is a free intermingling of cultures.


The country has everything for the family,-theme parks, jungle trails,sports, water sports and one of the highest numbers of golf courses.


It is open to citizens of countries recognised by Malaysia, regardless of race, religion, gender or age. The programme allows applicants to bring with them their spouses, parents and children. Foreign spouses of Malaysians and expatriates who wish to retire in Malaysia after expiry of their Employment Passes are also eligible to apply to stay in Malaysia on this programme. Applicants are allowed to bring their spouses, unmarried children below the age of 21 and parents above the age of 60 as dependants.

Effective 9 January, 2009 foreign citizens may apply to participate in MM2H programme directly, without going through any other third party, OR may continue to use the services of MM2H agents licensed by the Ministry of Tourism, Malaysia.
